ALICE IN WONDERLAND MAD HATTER TEA PARTY
26 JULY 2014

One of my all time favourite themes is Alice in Wonderland and I thoroughly enjoyed putting together this joint 16th birthday party!

I loved all the detail on the eats & treats table. The decor included round chalk boards, a white ceramic rabbit, pink, green, blue & black & white striped tablecloths, crocheted doilies (which my late grandmother, Ouma Sue, crocheted), odd cups & saucers, miniature clocks, giant playing cards, a woven wooden cup, "Eat Me" flags, old keys, a red heart bowl, the cutest miniature rabbits, a green grass table runner, a wooden box for the "Eat Me" cookies, tree trunk cupcake stands, food labels, a milk jug, a teapot with "Drink Me" straws, square black & white plates, a wire rabbit, a beautiful glass dome, red roses in a giant cup & saucer, vintage Alice in Wonderland books, a miniature tea set on a miniature wooden table and black, pink & white stack boxes as well as a cute moss bunny.  It was such a busy and colourful table!

To drink we served delicious homemade lemonade with ice & lemon in Consol jars as well as Mad Hatter's iced tea in an assortment of flavours.

On the menu was Queen of Hearts' cheese bites with biscuits on the round chalk board platters and heart shaped ham & cheese sandwiches, vanilla cupcakes with playing card hearts, delicious mini flapjack stacks with strawberries & syrup, Nutella & strawberry pancakes, chocolate biscuit fudge, "Eat Me" cookies, chicken mayonnaise finger sandwiches and the most delicious chocolate brownies (thank you to my husband, Ian!).
