Being a huge music lover myself I had the absolute best time putting together this Jamaican Reggae party for Jayden’s Sweet 16th birthday party!
The party was hosted at Bosparadys Party Venue in Pretoria, it is such a beautiful and well equipped venue.
MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:
- the old wooden pallet that I spray painted in red, yellow and green (spray paint is one of my new best friends!)
- the fact that literally each item on the menu was themed and made with the proper Jamaican spices, everything looked and smelled so delicious!
- the food picks with song lyrics and Rastafarian sayings
- the “hash” brownies (no hash involved!)
- and also getting to know Jayden’s lovely family at the venue
Firstly we served some traditional Jamaican fare which included Jamaican Jerk burgers, street corn in bamboo boats, meat pies and delicious Jerk chicken strips (which looked positively delicious!) with fresh lime as well as fresh tropical fruit.
Then we gave some old favourites clever Reggae names like “Buffalo Soldier” wings and fresh fruit ka”Bob”s.
We also served red, yellow, green and black sweets in apothecary jars.
As a welcome drink we served Caribbean Pineapple Cocktails.
