Setting up and styling this Christmas themed food table for Mmabatho and her beautiful family’s housewarming finally got me in the Christmas spirit!
MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:
- the delicious roasts which included chicken, deboned lamb and gammon! My mouth literally watered…
- the Peppermint Crisp tart (I only started making these this year, had I known how easy it was I would have started a long time ago!)
- the starter wreaths, one with marinated olives, bocconcini and cocktail tomatoes and the other with cocktail meatballs, pickled onions and gherkins, just like my grandmother used to make it!
- the Christmas cake truffles, how cute are those?
- and last, but not least, just the sheer privilege of preparing a Christmas inspired meal for a family celebrating a new home!
In addition to the starter wreaths we also served freshly baked baguette with a selection of spreads.
The roasts were accompanied by a rustic potato salad as well as a carrot and pineapple salad.
For dessert we served the Peppermint Crisp tart and the Christmas cake truffles as well as chocolate mousse.
