When Keki contacted me all the way from Amsterdam to ask me whether I would like to help her plan a Hot Air Balloon Baby Shower for her sister, Kambe, I was over the moon!
It is such a whimsical theme and I just love the somewhat vintage colour scheme of pastel blue, pale yellow, gold and brown.
It was a lovely sunny Autumn day which was perfect for such a wonderful celebration of new life!
MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:
- The beautiful artwork by Every Sunny Designs which I used to design all the printable items such as the backdrop, the welcome sign and the food labels as well as the cupcake toppers
- the organic balloon garland, balloons always add just that little bit of extra whimsy to any event
- my vintage travel suitcases!
- the little baby animal soft toys
- and lastly the cute hot air balloon made from a paper lantern and some things I found in the garage! Call me creative!
When creating a menu for any event I always consider the theme, colour scheme and the type of event as well as the time of day.
On the menu for this baby shower we had cloud sandwiches with cheese and biltong, chicken pies, chicken mayonnaise wraps and croissants filled with camembert and mushrooms as well as a selection of open sandwiches.
We also served lemon and herb chicken skewers and roast chicken pancakes.
Sweet treats included melktert cupcakes, chocolate biscuit fudge, chocolate fudge brownies, chocolate mousse tartlets and macarons as well as delicious banana and caramel pancakes! Yum!!
My wish for Kambe and hubby Tare is that this new bundle of joy will bring them lots of fun, love and laughter!
