An Awesome Neon Glow-in-the-Dark Party for a 13-Year Old

For Zuane’s 13th birthday she wanted a Neon Glow-in-the-Dark party because it was the first time she was allowed to have a late afternoon party that would go on into the evening, being a brand new teenager and all!

We set up and styled a Designer Eats & Treats Table in one of the lapas at the club house at their residential estate in Pretoria. Mommy Sandi arranged some music and lights, the teens danced while the adults kept a watchful eye! 🙂

ME PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:

  • the awesome neon glow-in-the-dark backdrop printed by Memory Wall Creations (and designed by yours truly)
  • the marquee letters spelling Zuane’s name, she loved it!
  • the neon tropical flavoured Energade, I bet it glowed in the dark!
  • the lightbox with a personalized message for Zuane
  • and lastly seeing her all dressed up in her neon dance party outfit! Happy faces is what this is all about!

We served yummy beef sliders with neon flags and Margarita pizza bites as well as assorted crisps & dips and salted popcorn to snack on.

Sweet treats included neon cupcakes, neon sweets in apothecary jars, rock candy and Oreos.

The adults also enjoyed some of our delicious Gourmet Snack Platters.

My favourite thing to eat is a beautifully styled cheese and charcuterie board with a glass of good red wine and live music playing in the background. Or the foreground. Writing about food and music (and everything in between) excites me because these are two of the many things that South Africa has an abundance of and it is also two of the few things that really bring people together.

If you are creative and enjoy event styling, cooking, baking, entertaining, live music, festivals and markets like I do then stick around. Here I will share events and recipes, talk about new music, interview artists, recommend festivals, markets, events and eateries, review products and offer catering and décor solutions.

I think out of the box (and in the shower). I draw inspiration from others. I like creating new ways of doing old things. I like using old things to make new things. When you leave here I want you to be informed and feel inspired, excited and a little nostalgic.
