Beautiful Born to be Wild Baby Shower for a Boy

First time grandmother to be, Karen, wanted to give her daughter, Yolandi (who lives in London) an unforgettable baby shower. Together we decided that a Born to be Wild theme was perfect for the occasion!

Yolandi’s in laws hosted the baby shower at their beautiful, spacious family home on a smallholding in the heart of Centurion.

MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:

the organic balloon garland with lots of greenery and touches of gold
the cute wild baby animal backdrop which was designed by yours truly and printed by Memory Wall Creations
the salted caramel tartlets, I am a sucker for anything containing caramel!
the roasted and salted mixed nut white chocolate bark
and lastly the delicious and beautiful cheese & charcuterie board with fresh seasonal fruit and berries, another one of my favourite things in the world!

Apart from the cheese & charcuterie board we also served an assortment of delicious eats which included wraps, crostini, croissants, cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches, phyllo parcels and cigars as well as some delicious baked tartlets.

Sweet treats included the salted caramel tartlets, cupcakes and the chocolate bark as well as macarons.

My favourite thing to eat is a beautifully styled cheese and charcuterie board with a glass of good red wine and live music playing in the background. Or the foreground. Writing about food and music (and everything in between) excites me because these are two of the many things that South Africa has an abundance of and it is also two of the few things that really bring people together.

If you are creative and enjoy event styling, cooking, baking, entertaining, live music, festivals and markets like I do then stick around. Here I will share events and recipes, talk about new music, interview artists, recommend festivals, markets, events and eateries, review products and offer catering and décor solutions.

I think out of the box (and in the shower). I draw inspiration from others. I like creating new ways of doing old things. I like using old things to make new things. When you leave here I want you to be informed and feel inspired, excited and a little nostalgic.
