Boho inspired events are all the rage right now and when Miki’s mom Hermien asked me to help her plan her daughter’s 21st birthday party picnic I was over the moon!
The event was hosted at the clubhouse in their residential estate and it suited the colour scheme (and windy weather!) perfectly!
MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:
- the BEAUTIFUL and utterly delicious cookies baked by Liplangs which is the birthday girl’s mom bakery
- the organic balloon garland over the picnic table
- the paper leaves (which I tried making for the first time!)
- the Cobb salad, enough said…
- and lastly the place settings with beautiful bamboo placemats and 100% pure cotton napkins to add to the boho theme!
Snacks included biltong and droëwors as well as rustic baguettes with a selection of pâtés and spreads.
We also served delicious picnic fare which, apart from the Cobb salad served with fried tortilla crisps, included a cheese & charcuterie board with fresh seasonal berries and fruit, wraps and an assortment of sliders as well as lemon & herb chicken skewers.
Sweet treats included Ferrero Rocher truffles, macarons and the ever popular Krispy Kreme doughnuts!
