I’m Totally in Love with this Stunning Mamma Mia Party!

When mom Yolanda told me that they were planning a combined Mamma Mia Party for her daughter Jayden and her friend Valri I was ecstatic! I love ABBA, I love the movie, I love Greek food, I love the colour scheme, I literally love everything about this theme! We immediately started brainstorming and planning this sweet 16th celebration!

I started off by watching the movie again! Haha! Who wouldn’t? Let’s call it research! 🙂

MY PERSONAL FAVOURITE ELEMENTS WERE:

  • the blue door, for sure!
  • the Bougainvillea arch behind the table
  • the pita bread wedges which I toasted individually in a cast iron pan with lots of extra virgin olive oil and Maldon sea salt, I ate most of it and had to go and buy more…
  • the spanakopita bites, I made those from scratch for the first time and they were AMAZING! Can I say that about my own cooking?
  • and lastly just the feeling of being on a Greek island for a day… while humming ABBA songs…

Seriously, I loved every single element.

On the menu was the pita bread wedges with an assortment of delicious dips, chicken souvlaki and Greek village salad as well as Greek Yoghurt chicken wings. We also served grilled haloumi with a mint drizzle, pork souvlaki, lamb keftedes and grilled Greek chicken fillets.

I craved Greek food for weeks after this party!

To drink we served blue Mediterranean Sea fruit punch, pink watermelon cordial with soda water and fruit infused mineral water.

A big thank you to my mom for letting me use some of her beautiful blue bottles, it was perfect for the theme and colour scheme! Thank you also to Lori-Ann from LadyJane Design for the beautiful digital artwork I used for the welcome sign and the food labels.

This was probably my favourite event of the year!

  • Hello! I know you made this a few years ago but I just wanted to ask for the recipes for the food? My school is going to be showing Mamma Mia! The Musical an I’m hosting the after party so I want it to be on theme. I thought that your food looked so good, probably the best out of what I searched on google. If you do not wish to share, I will understand. Have a good day!
